About Me

November 12, 2010 | Posted in
Spencer I am a graduate student at UC San Diego in the Bioinformatics department. I’m a member of Phil Bourne’s lab. I am interested in protein structure. I’m currently working on algorithms for detecting circular permutations and symmetry in proteins, as well as work to define the nature of protein fold space. In the past I’ve done research in structural comparisons, protein folding simulations, and protein crosslinking, and mass spectrometry. When not working, I enjoy climbing and ultimate frisbee, as well as computer programming and science fiction novels.
